This wiki is designed to share the resources that I have found as I research my thesis for the Master of Music in Musicology degree. My topic is on Native Americans as they are portrayed in Hollywood's film music. My main focus is on music used in films of the Western genre. Although there are numerous films that have been directed and produced by Native Americans that I could research, I will be focusing mainly on the stereotype not the struggle against the stereotype.
Many of the resources that I am using are general resources used to gain a good foundation for viewing these films and writing my own analyses of the music. I have not decided yet, which films I will use in my thesis, but I will be viewing all of these that are mentioned on this website. I have divided these resources by subject: General, Native American, Film Music, and Miscellaneous; then further subdivided them by specific category, to make them more helpful.
